Literature In Teaching Guide L-I-T Guides integrate reading with important skill work. Each L-I-T Guide includes: story summary, about the author, preparing to read activities, and cooperative-learning projects. This guide provides a reproducible vocabulary activity page and a comprehension/discussion question page for each chapter or combination of chapters. The vocabulary activities are activities such as: using vocabulary words to complete sentences, matching words to definitions, looking up word definitions, and choosing the closest synonym. The questions page has four open-ended questions with a few lines for a short answer. Also included are: a glossary of literary terms, post-reading activities, and reproducible activities on literary skills such as: plot, setting, point of view, irony, symbolism, cause and effect, fact versus opinion, and main idea. 40-56 pages.
